Natywny

Problem:

During the production of Natywny Vodka, cacao is produced and fermented to make the vodka. Historically, during this process there is a disturbance to the landscape in which the cacao is grown and carbon is emitted into the atmosphere among other problematic effects.

Idea:

The solution to the carbon production and other effects to the landscape is to help the small shareholder producers of the cacao used in Natywny vodka production to implement a multistrata agroforestry production system. This system is clearly defined by Project Drawdown as a viable solution. By mimicking forests, multistrata systems can: prevent erosion and flooding recharge groundwater restore degraded land and soils

Main Beneficiaries:

The beneficiaries of our solution are the small shareholder producers of cacao in Ecuador. The current estimation is that our solution would directly benefit between 50 and 100 cacao producers and their families by creating a proven and sustainable production method. The natural environment of Ecuador which is a mega biodiverse region is also beneficiary.

Stage:

Execution and validation

GOAL 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

GOAL 15: Life on Land
