Disruptive Farms

Universidad Austral (Argentina) '21

Problem:

Food production will need to increase by 69% by 2030 to feed the growing population. Global water demand is set to increase by 55% from 2000 to 2050. The world has lost 1/3 arable land in the last 40 years due to soil erosion and contamination by toxic metals. With pesticide residues on 70% of washed produce in the US, people are concerned with sustainability and chemicals on their foods.

Idea:

We believe in a disruptive way of vertical farms, which allow us to use less water than in the traditional way, less land than the field, and zero pesticides. There are no limits of stages to cultivate using the same amount of land.

Main Beneficiaries:

At least every farmer who believes in our idea will be producing 3 times more than in the traditional way. Consumers and traders will be provided with better quality and healthier products than ever.

Stage:
