El Rocío

Problem:

In recent years there has been an increase in the number of complaints and episodes of violence (mostly to women) , but current public policies are generally focused on tertiary interventions: once the complaint has been filed and the violent episode has already occurred. Given that poor socioeconomic situations leave space for greater injustices and more violence, Argentina has an enormous challenge ahead with almost 40% of the population above the line of poverty

Idea:

El Rocío is a community referent in Alberti since 2014. The organization promotes family values and provides family orientation, legal support and educational support for children and illiterates living in vulnerable neighborhoods. It has reached to 60 families so far only with the help of volunteers. We aim to develop a strategic plan with the Austral Innovation Lab to reach more families through better communication, awareness, capacity enhancement and alliances, among others
