Problem:

Climate change has caused great havoc throughout the world and this impact is notoriously characteristic of a natural resource such as Water, currently water bodies are being affected with a greater proportion by the uncontrolled growth of microalgae and cyanobacteria (Blooms) and Laboratories or environmental monitoring centers are not enough to deliver results of great precision and in real time since their response time varies between 48 hours to 15 days depending on the urgency.

Idea:

The Other Lab by KITAI SpA, is the first microbiology laboratory on a chip worldwide, aims to scale all the microbiological analyzes described by the WHO as the percentage of Biovolume of cyanobacteria or the count of cells per ml at micrometric levels using an area of ​​14 cm2 and technologies such as artificial intelligence, microfluidics and environmental metagenomics, we currently have the first functional prototype that is being validated by the largest health company in the country.

Main Beneficiaries:

The Other Lab system was designed so that any person or company can perform water quality monitoring analyzes instantly and with great reliability, this system tries to bring together all those entities that need to control their microbiological parameters but do not have sufficient resources to pay for an environmental laboratory. The Other Lab is developed for any environment and so that anyone with a computer and a cell phone can control their monitoring processes.
