Problem:

Entering higher education opens up great opportunities, but it also involves coping with the challenges of the transition to adulthood. Uncertainty about the future, academic overload, migration from cities and the need to balance study and work have caused the university period to be a particular time when young people have a high prevalence of mental health problems. In just six years, student anxiety on college campuses rose from 17% to 31%, according to a study by the Healthy Minds Network.

Idea:

Healthymindbot is an application with an integrated chatbot AI that listens and addresses student concerns, provides professionally backed psychological advice, and helps users feel better immediately without an appointment and wait times. In addition, with a B2B service, universities can adopt a pro-mental health app for their students on their platforms. Through digital media, people are more likely to seek help, express their problems freely and get help in a personalized and effective way.

Main Beneficiaries:

Healthymindbot is an application aimed at universities that want to measure the well-being of their students and provide them with tools to increase resilience and self-confidence. In Ecuador there are 71 universities and polytechnic schools, of which 33 are private (46%), 9 are co-financed and 29 are public. Additionally, According to the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (SENESCYT) the number of students enrolled as of 2018 is 632,541.
