Problem:

Poor Mental Health in Children and adolescents In the last few years, the important role of mental health in achieving global development goals has been increasingly recognized. According to the World Health Organization, depression is one of the leading causes of disability, suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among 15-29 year olds, and people with severe mental health conditions die prematurely, up to two decades earlier, due to preventable physical conditions.

Idea:

Prevention through education is key, that is why our idea is centered on designing a gamified digital tool, meaning a video game, capable of teaching and developing the emotional intelligence of children aging 10-12 years old.

Main Beneficiaries:

Our beneficiaries are mainly children from 10 to 12 years old, as the video game stages are targeted to this particular group. In terms of the quantitative impact of the project, we will focus mainly on two specific countries, the United States and Chile. In the United States we will be improving the well-being of about 20 million children by preventing them from suffering from anxiety, depression or violence, while in Chile we will be helping about 1 million children.
