Problem:
Across America and around the globe, students of all ages with dyslexia frequently get labeled as lazy, “not smart” and all too often don’t achieve or realize their true potential. The negative impact this has on one’s mental health, academic success and eventual career path is often devastating nevermind the incalculable loss to the health of families, communities and greater well being of society.
Idea:
One solution is to create affordable, specialized teaching for Dyslexic students through an easy to use app/online interface. The app's main purpose would be to connect qualified teachers/tutors to dyslexic students in need (based on age, grade, subject, etc.). Additionally, there would be a well-being / mental health component and partnership with existing entities that provide teacher training and certification in the Orton Gillingham and other specialized teaching methods.
