Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador) '21

Problem:

According to statistics, in 2020 during the pandemic there were more than 20 thousand cases of femicides. Similarly, street violence and harassment have increased by a large percentage lately. Every day we can see in the news, many shocking cases about assaults, deaths, etc. It is very alarming to have to go outside and be concerned about your well-being or whether you will arrive home safely. That is why our entrepreneurship wishes to solve the problem of gender violence and street harassment

Idea:

We decided to create a self-defense kit against violence on streets. The most important part of our kit is a bracelet that will have a tracking device that you can activate with a button pattern and it will send your location to your family of friends while it also activates an alert with your location on the app where you will have a community willing to help you if they are near to you.

Main Beneficiaries:

Our product is a social project, focused on the protection of women, or anyone who is concerned about their safety on the street and with this generates a safe community, in which you can know that you are not alone, we are a group of girls who want and feel that the problem of insecurity in the street is something that should be improved to have a safe society.
