Problem:

Public transportation users feel frustration due to the lack of real-time information on schedules and routes, along with missing notifications about delays and service changes in the Metropolitan District of Quito.

Idea:

Our application offers a comprehensive solution: real-time tracking of bus movements, personalized notifications about delays and route changes, and travel alternative suggestions based on real-time traffic. Users will also be able to plan their weekly itineraries and receive personalized alerts indicating when to leave their homes to arrive on time.

Main Beneficiaries:

The primary beneficiaries of Qtrack are public transportation users in the Metropolitan District of Quito. This includes daily commuters, students, and workers who rely on buses to travel across the city. Commuters and Workers: Quito's workforce will benefit from increased predictability and punctuality, helping reduce stress associated with unpredictable bus schedules and delays. They’ll experience a smoother commute, with fewer instances of late arrivals at work or other essential destinations. Students: University and high school students who depend on public transport can plan their routes more effectively, avoid long waits at stops, and have a safer, more organized daily routine. General Population: Residents who use public transit occasionally will also benefit from the app, as it will provide real-time updates and alternative routes, making public transport a more reliable choice. The estimated reach in the Metropolitan District of Quito could be approximately 300,000 to 500,000 users, given that public transportation is widely used throughout the area
